TASK 3: Mind Mapping - IDEA 1

Here are some of my ideas for creating my music video.

Idea 1 -

The Idea

I started by listening to the song lyrics for this song. The song is initially about a break up between a couple, the girl is still very much in love with him, however the boy isn't and wants to move on.
I thought this idea would be perfect and achievable when creating my music video as the song has a good rhythm, and I found it easy to picture ideas. The actor playing the boy would be walking towards the camera singing the lyrics to the song, but instead of just having one location, i will use several. This will create the sense that the boys mind is all over the place; instead of in just one location. I will film in a variety of locations, with very different and interesting backgrounds to help capture the audiences attention, including: City centre, Country Road, Canal.
During each chorus of the song their would be footage of the couple before they had split up, of all the good times they'd spent together. I would use a variety of different shots, including Long shots, Medium Shots and those all important Close Up shots to help capture the actors facial expressions. All of the shots set when the couple were together will be shown in black and white to represent the time difference between then and now.
During the rest of the video the boy will be walking and walking, away from his troubles and hopefully to a better place; he's trying to escape all of his problems.
Between the start and the end of the song will be a difference in time. The first few shots of my music video I will shoot in the morning, and the last few shots will be shot in the evening, preferable when its dark to represent the passing of time.
